Install Trae Plugin

This article walks you through the process of installing and using Trae Plugin in Visual Studio Code and JetBrains IDEs.

Prerequisite

• Visual Studio Code 1.93 or a later version is installed.

OR

• JetBrains IDE 221.5080.210 or a later version is installed.

Install Trae Plugin in VS Code

1. Open Visual Studio Code.
2. Go to the extension marketplace.
3. Search for "Trae AI: Coding Assistant" and install it.
4. Restart Visual Studio Code.
5. Click Trae's icon or use the keyboard shortcut (Windows: Ctrl + U; macOS: Command + U) to open the side chat box.
6. Click the Login button and log in to Trae Plugin on the login page.
7. Return to Visual Studio Code.
8. Trae Plugin is set up and ready for you to use.

Install Trae Plugin in a JetBrains IDE

1. Open a JetBrains IDE.
2. Go to the plugin marketplace.
3. Search for "Trae AI: Coding Assistant" and install it.
4. Restart the JetBrains IDE.
5. Open a project.
